BLACKBEARDS PIRATE SHIP
Blackbeard is probably the most infamous pirate in history.With
his wild beard and fierce eyes, he was a formidable opponent.
When going into battle he would tuck lengths of smoldering hemp
into his hair, surrounding him with a veil of smoke. He looked
like a warrior from another world, making him the most feared
man on the seas. Blackbeard's exploits carried him from the
Caribbean to the Carolinas, and in spite of his cleverness and
his cruel, calculating instincts, he was killed in 1718 by the
lieutenant of a Navy crew sent after him by the governor of
Virginia. Teach's flagship was named the Adventure; he commanded
a fleet of 6 vessels and a crew of 400 men.
